On Sunday May 27th Tom Kinney and Harry McIntosh travelled to Piha Beach to represent Waiheke High School in the first of three Regional Scholastics surfing competitions.
In lumpy head high conditions the boys set about impressing the judges and both managed to earn podium finishes. Tom finished 3rd in the U18 Boys category while Harry managed to finish 2nd in the U14 Boys division. Both results are especially impressive given the fact there was a strong contingent of local surfers and given the infrequent opportunities to practice on Waiheke!
